Description:
This one day course covers unit one of the Paediatric First Aid syllabus. It partially satisfies the guidelines and criteria as laid down by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and OFSTED. Designed for those who have an interest in child and infant basic life support e.g. teachers, child-minders, nursery/ playgroup personnel and parents. However, the full course covering units 1 and 2 is necessary for those with a professional interest.
Syllabus includes:
- Responsibilities & reporting
- Assessment of the situation
- Dealing with an unresponsive casualty
- Resuscitation
- Minor injuries
- Shock
- Epilepsy
- Anaphylaxis
- Wounds & bleeding
- Bites & stings
